This artwork by Marisa Merz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work without title sold for USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,270.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Marisa Merz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 194,500.00 (€ 275,735.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marisa Merz erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.270,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marisa Merz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 194.500,00 (€ 275.735,67).
