Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Marisa Merz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May this year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Untitled, n.d. sold for USD 100,800.00 (€ 94,612.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marisa Merz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 194,500.00 (€ 275,735.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marisa Merz erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Untitled, n.d. für USD 100.800,00 (€ 94.612,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marisa Merz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Juli 2015 für GBP 194.500,00 (€ 275.735,67) versteigert wurde.
