Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hard by Lee Lozano was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 175,000.00 (€ 149,957.16). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lee Lozano - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work No title, which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 602,500.00 (€ 462,181.65).
