Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Session, which included the work Untitled (Tool) by Lee Lozano. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 36,770.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Lozano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work No title in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 602,500.00 (€ 462,181.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Tool) von Lee Lozano zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 36.770,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Lozano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit No title im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 602.500,00 (€ 462.181,65).
