both I. 7 x 7 in. (17.8 x 17.8 cm);
both S. 9 x 9 in. (22.9 x 22.9 cm)
both signed, dated '00' and numbered 16/60 and 6/60 respectively in pencil (there were also 10 artist's proofs), published by MS Editions, New York, both in excellent condition, both framed.

Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2009 Phillips in New York held the auction Modern and Contmporary Editions, which included the work Men's Hands Smoking; and Women's Hands Smoking by Julia Jacquette. The price achieved of USD 1,000.00 (€ 666.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julia Jacquette achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Men's Hands (Handshake) in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 16,066.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2009 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Modern and Contmporary Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Men's Hands Smoking; and Women's Hands Smoking von Julia Jacquette zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.000,00 (€ 666,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julia Jacquette erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Men's Hands (Handshake) im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 16.066,84).
