Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Julia Jacquette achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work White on White (Wedding Dresses) II sold for USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,506.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julia Jacquette - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Men's Hands (Handshake), which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 16,066.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Julia Jacquette erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit White on White (Wedding Dresses) II für USD 5.292,00 (€ 4.506,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Julia Jacquette mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Men's Hands (Handshake) beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 16.066,84) versteigert wurde.
