Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Cold Shoulder) IV by Jose Dávila for USD 11,970.00 (€ 11,154.60). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jose Dávila have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Buildings You Must See Before You Die in April last year with an auction result of USD 52,920.00 (€ 50,223.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Cold Shoulder) IV von Jose Dávila für USD 11.970,00 (€ 11.154,60) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jose Dávila auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Buildings You Must See Before You Die im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 50.223,02).
