Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Helix by Jose Dávila was auctioned at Phillips in 19 - in September this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,064.00 (€ 4,064.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jose Dávila achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Buildings You Must See Before You Die in April last year with an auction result of USD 52,920.00 (€ 50,223.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Helix von Jose Dávila im September diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 19 - versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.064,00 (€ 4.064,00) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jose Dávila erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Buildings You Must See Before You Die im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 50.223,02).
