Upper estimate price exceeded by 50 %.
The work Homage to the Square by Jose Dávila was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2019. It achieved a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 34,387.90), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jose Dávila; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Buildings You Must See Before You Die sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of USD 52,920.00 (€ 50,223.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Homage to the Square von Jose Dávila kam im September 2019 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 34.387,90) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jose Dávila; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Buildings You Must See Before You Die im April letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 50.223,02).
