Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Death Ship in Port, from Six Lithographs (L.P. p. 180, pl. 83, A. & B. 19B) by H. C. Westermann was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April 2021. The price achieved of USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,256.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by H. C. Westermann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rosebud in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 137,000.00 (€ 123,035.47).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Death Ship in Port, from Six Lithographs (L.P. p. 180, pl. 83, A. & B. 19B) von H. C. Westermann kam im April 2021 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.512,00 (€ 1.256,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von H. C. Westermann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rosebud im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.000,00 (€ 123.035,47).
