The work Magaracuay by Gerd Leufert was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 45,850.53) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerd Leufert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Betijoque, which sold at auction in November 2018 for USD 206,250.00 (€ 182,151.37).

Die Arbeit Magaracuay von Gerd Leufert kam im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 45.850,53) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerd Leufert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Betijoque beobachtet, die im November 2018 für USD 206.250,00 (€ 182.151,37) versteigert wurde.
