Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 42,182.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gerd Leufert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Betijoque in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 206,250.00 (€ 182,151.37).

Die Arbeit Carayaca von Gerd Leufert kam im November 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 42.182,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerd Leufert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Betijoque im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 206.250,00 (€ 182.151,37).
