Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art, which included the work Listonado by Gerd Leufert. The price achieved of USD 56,250.00 (€ 53,176.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerd Leufert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Betijoque, which sold at auction in November 2018 for USD 206,250.00 (€ 182,151.37).

Im November 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Listonado von Gerd Leufert zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 53.176,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerd Leufert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Betijoque beobachtet, die im November 2018 für USD 206.250,00 (€ 182.151,37) versteigert wurde.
