Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ger van Elk could be acquired at Phillips in New York in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work The Co-Founder of the Word O.K.—Hollywood changed hands for USD 1,008.00 (€ 872.58) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ger van Elk achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 20,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ger van Elk konnte im Oktober 2021 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wechselte die Arbeit The Co-Founder of the Word O.K.—Hollywood für USD 1.008,00 (€ 872,58) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ger van Elk erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 20.000,00.
