This artwork by Ger van Elk achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2016. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Dutch Gray sold for EUR 10,625.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ger van Elk; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of EUR 20,000.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ger van Elk erzielte im April 2016 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Dutch Gray für EUR 10.625,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ger van Elk; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 20.000,00.
