Auction result misses estimated price range
In September this year a collector was able to acquire the work M. Hass at Pine Point Maine by Edward Kienholz for USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,952.38). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War to Present at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Kienholz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Future as an Afterthought in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 141,900.00 (€ 120,601.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit M. Hass at Pine Point Maine von Edward Kienholz für USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.952,38) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Kienholz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Future as an Afterthought im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 141.900,00 (€ 120.601,73).
