Auction result misses estimated price range
In October last year a collector was able to acquire the work "For $275.00" by Edward Kienholz for SEK 24,000.00 (€ 2,196.09). This price was achieved in the auction BLÅ – A Life Estate H065 at Bukowski in Stockholm and was even below the estimate range of SEK 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Kienholz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Future as an Afterthought in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 141,900.00 (€ 120,601.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit "For $275.00" von Edward Kienholz für SEK 24.000,00 (€ 2.196,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion BLÅ – A Life Estate H065 bei Bukowski in Stockholm erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von SEK 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Kienholz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Future as an Afterthought im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 141.900,00 (€ 120.601,73).
