Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Kienholz could be acquired at Artcurial in February this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples Online auction, the work Souvenir from Documenta 5 Kassel - 1972/1973 changed hands for EUR 787.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 800.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Kienholz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Future as an Afterthought in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 141,900.00 (€ 120,601.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Kienholz konnte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Artcurial für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples Online wechselte die Arbeit Souvenir from Documenta 5 Kassel - 1972/1973 für EUR 787,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Kienholz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Future as an Afterthought im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 141.900,00 (€ 120.601,73).
