Auction result well in line with expectations
The work For $464.00 by Edward Kienholz was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 4,445.00 (€ 4,088.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Kienholz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Future as an Afterthought in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 141,900.00 (€ 120,601.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit For $464.00 von Edward Kienholz wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.445,00 (€ 4.088,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Kienholz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Future as an Afterthought im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 141.900,00 (€ 120.601,73).
