Signed Keinholz on label. Also signed EK and dated -72 on license plate. Executed in 1971 - 1972. Ed 12/55. Object in two parts, painted car door, fluorescent bulb with electrical socket and license plate. Height 100, width 94 and depth 18 cm. The artist's book about the projetcs 'Five Car Stud' and 'Sawdy', as well as a signed and dated certificate by the artist and Gemini G.E.L. included.

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Kienholz could be acquired at Bukowski in Stockholm in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art & Design auction, the work 'Sawdy' changed hands for SEK 65,000.00 (€ 5,504.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of SEK 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Kienholz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Future as an Afterthought in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 141,900.00 (€ 120,601.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Kienholz konnte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bukowski in Stockholm für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art & Design wechselte die Arbeit 'Sawdy' für SEK 65.000,00 (€ 5.504,83) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von SEK 80.000,00 – 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Kienholz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Future as an Afterthought im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 141.900,00 (€ 120.601,73).
