Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sin Título by Doris Salcedo was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 266,500.00 (€ 204,842.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Doris Salcedo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 665,000.00 (€ 629,615.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sin Título von Doris Salcedo kam im November 2012 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 266.500,00 (€ 204.842,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Doris Salcedo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 665.000,00 (€ 629.615,60) versteigert wurde.
