Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Doris Salcedo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work without title sold for USD 471,000.00 (€ 395,864.85) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Doris Salcedo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of USD 665,000.00 (€ 629,615.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Doris Salcedo erzielte im November 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 471.000,00 (€ 395.864,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Doris Salcedo; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 665.000,00 (€ 629.615,60).
