Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Doris Salcedo could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Discoveries auction, the work For Hans Haacke & Edward Fry changed hands for USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,271.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Doris Salcedo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 665,000.00 (€ 629,615.60).
