Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Naomi Campbell: Houston, We Have A Problem by David LaChapelle was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. It achieved a price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,047.68), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David LaChapelle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Addicted to Diamonds, 1997, which sold at auction in May 2016 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 35,884.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Naomi Campbell: Houston, We Have A Problem von David LaChapelle wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 16.047,68) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Für andere Arbeiten von David LaChapelle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Addicted to Diamonds, 1997 beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 35.884,60) versteigert wurde.
