Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cathedral by David LaChapelle was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 70,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,572.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by David LaChapelle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Addicted to Diamonds, 1997 in May 2016 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 35,884.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cathedral von David LaChapelle kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.572,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David LaChapelle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Addicted to Diamonds, 1997 im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 35.884,60).
