This work without title by Charles Ray was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2015. The auction ended at the price of USD 150,000.00 (€ 136,438.06), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 120,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Aluminum Girl in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 4,282,500.00 (€ 3,463,684.89).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Charles Ray kam im Mai 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 136.438,06) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 120.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Aluminum Girl im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.282.500,00 (€ 3.463.684,89).
