A top price for Charles Ray - as previously expected
The work Aluminum Girl by Charles Ray was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,282,500.00 (€ 3,463,684.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Aluminum Girl is the most expensive artwork by Charles Ray that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Aluminum Girl von Charles Ray wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert.
