Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Charles Ray was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 100,800.00 (€ 89,306.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Aluminum Girl in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 4,282,500.00 (€ 3,463,684.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Charles Ray wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 89.306,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Aluminum Girl im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.282.500,00 (€ 3.463.684,89).
