It achieved a price of USD 387,500.00 (€ 345,027.16), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 29%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Aluminum Girl in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 4,282,500.00 (€ 3,463,684.89).

Die Arbeit Plank Piece I-Ii von Charles Ray kam im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 387.500,00 (€ 345.027,16) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 29%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Aluminum Girl im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.282.500,00 (€ 3.463.684,89).
