The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,472,000.00 (€ 1,263,844.77), 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Barkley L. Hendricks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Stanley in May this year with an auction result of USD 6,100,000.00 (€ 5,725,549.09).

Die Arbeit Latin From Manhattan...The Bronx Actually von Barkley L. Hendricks wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.472.000,00 (€ 1.263.844,77) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barkley L. Hendricks auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Stanley im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.100.000,00 (€ 5.725.549,09).
