Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Christies in New York held the auction 21st Century Evening Sale, which included the work Triple Portrait: World Conqueror by Barkley L. Hendricks. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,107,000.00 (€ 1,931,609.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barkley L. Hendricks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stanley, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 6,100,000.00 (€ 5,725,549.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Triple Portrait: World Conqueror von Barkley L. Hendricks zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.107.000,00 (€ 1.931.609,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Barkley L. Hendricks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stanley beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 6.100.000,00 (€ 5.725.549,09) versteigert wurde.
