Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Selina/Star by Barkley L. Hendricks was auctioned at Phillips in New York in December 2020. The price achieved of USD 937,500.00 (€ 766,557.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Barkley L. Hendricks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Stanley in May this year with an auction result of USD 6,100,000.00 (€ 5,725,549.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Selina/Star von Barkley L. Hendricks kam im Dezember 2020 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 937.500,00 (€ 766.557,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barkley L. Hendricks auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Stanley im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.100.000,00 (€ 5.725.549,09).
