Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work North Philly Niggah (William Corbett) by Barkley L. Hendricks was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2018. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,935,000.00 (€ 1,708,911.07). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barkley L. Hendricks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stanley, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 6,100,000.00 (€ 5,725,549.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit North Philly Niggah (William Corbett) von Barkley L. Hendricks kam im November 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.800.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.935.000,00 (€ 1.708.911,07) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Barkley L. Hendricks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stanley beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 6.100.000,00 (€ 5.725.549,09) versteigert wurde.
