Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Jackie Sha-La-La (Jackie Cameron) by Barkley L. Hendricks. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,803,000.00 (€ 2,345,999.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barkley L. Hendricks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stanley, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 6,100,000.00 (€ 5,725,549.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jackie Sha-La-La (Jackie Cameron) von Barkley L. Hendricks zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.803.000,00 (€ 2.345.999,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Barkley L. Hendricks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stanley beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 6.100.000,00 (€ 5.725.549,09) versteigert wurde.
