Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tony Matelli could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Abandon changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,566.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tony Matelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lost & Sick in September 2011 with an auction result of USD 36,250.00 (€ 26,953.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tony Matelli konnte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wechselte die Arbeit Abandon für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.566,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tony Matelli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lost & Sick im September 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.250,00 (€ 26.953,68).
