In September last year Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Asparagus Head by Tony Matelli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,940.00 (€ 24,471.02), 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tony Matelli; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Lost & Sick sold at auction in September 2011 with the realized price of USD 36,250.00 (€ 26,953.68).

Im September letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Asparagus Head von Tony Matelli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.940,00 (€ 24.471,02) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tony Matelli; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Lost & Sick im September 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 36.250,00 (€ 26.953,68).
