The work Head (Orange) by Tony Matelli was auctioned at Phillips in New York in December 2020. It achieved a price of USD 30,240.00 (€ 24,726.08), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tony Matelli; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Lost & Sick sold at auction in September 2011 with the realized price of USD 36,250.00 (€ 26,953.68).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 24.726,08) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tony Matelli; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Lost & Sick im September 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 36.250,00 (€ 26.953,68).
