Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Warhol Marilyns by Elaine Sturtevant was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 655,200.00 (€ 610,567.51). Admittedly, works by Elaine Sturtevant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Warhol Diptych in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 4,632,526.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Warhol Marilyns von Elaine Sturtevant kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 655.200,00 (€ 610.567,51) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elaine Sturtevant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Warhol Diptych im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 4.632.526,83).
