Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Warhol 25 Marilyns by Elaine Sturtevant was sold in the 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in June this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 819,000.00 (€ 953,175.00), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Elaine Sturtevant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Warhol Diptych in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 4,632,526.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Warhol 25 Marilyns von Elaine Sturtevant wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 819.000,00 (€ 953.175,00) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elaine Sturtevant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Warhol Diptych im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 4.632.526,83).
