It achieved a price of USD 2,419,500.00 (€ 2,270,978.04), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 61%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elaine Sturtevant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Warhol Diptych, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 4,632,526.83).

Die Arbeit Study for Warhol Marilyn von Elaine Sturtevant kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 2.419.500,00 (€ 2.270.978,04) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 61%. Für andere Arbeiten von Elaine Sturtevant mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Warhol Diptych beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 4.632.526,83) versteigert wurde.
