Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Warhol Gold Marilyn by Elaine Sturtevant for USD 190,500.00 (€ 178,806.08). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elaine Sturtevant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warhol Diptych in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 4,632,526.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Warhol Gold Marilyn von Elaine Sturtevant für USD 190.500,00 (€ 178.806,08) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elaine Sturtevant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Warhol Diptych im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 4.632.526,83).
