In December this year Bonhams in Brussels held the auction Belgian and contemporary art, which included the work Sculpture de Voyage (after Duchamps) by Elaine Sturtevant. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 10,240.00 71% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elaine Sturtevant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warhol Diptych in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 4,632,526.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 71 % übertroffen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Brüssel die Auktion Belgian and contemporary art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sculpture de Voyage (after Duchamps) von Elaine Sturtevant zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 10.240,00 und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elaine Sturtevant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Warhol Diptych im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 4.632.526,83).
