The work Raysse Peinture à Haute Tension by Elaine Sturtevant was sold in the Art contemporain auction at Christies in Paris in December last year. It achieved a price of EUR 195,300.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elaine Sturtevant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warhol Diptych in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 4,632,526.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Raysse Peinture à Haute Tension von Elaine Sturtevant wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Art contemporain bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 195.300,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elaine Sturtevant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Warhol Diptych im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 4.632.526,83).
