This artwork by Elaine Sturtevant achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2012. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Warhol Flowers sold for USD 194,500.00 (€ 149,500.38) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elaine Sturtevant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warhol Diptych in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 4,632,526.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Elaine Sturtevant erzielte im November 2012 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Warhol Flowers für USD 194.500,00 (€ 149.500,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elaine Sturtevant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Warhol Diptych im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 4.632.526,83).
