In August 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Portrait of John Bloom by Stephen Ward. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,341.07), 48% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stephen Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mandy Rice-Davies in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,078.33).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 48 % übertroffen

Im August 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of John Bloom von Stephen Ward zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.187,50 (€ 1.341,07) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stephen Ward erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mandy Rice-Davies im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.078,33).
