Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sarah Sze could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 57,000.00 (€ 42,369.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sarah Sze achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surprise Ending in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 737,500.00 (€ 603,025.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sarah Sze konnte im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 57.000,00 (€ 42.369,73) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sarah Sze erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Surprise Ending im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 737.500,00 (€ 603.025,35).
