This artwork by Sarah Sze achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2021. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Fast Forward sold for USD 300,000.00 (€ 265,792.50) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sarah Sze - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Surprise Ending, which sold at auction in December 2020 for USD 737,500.00 (€ 603,025.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sarah Sze erzielte im November 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Fast Forward für USD 300.000,00 (€ 265.792,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sarah Sze mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Surprise Ending beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für USD 737.500,00 (€ 603.025,35) versteigert wurde.
