In November 2018 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included the work Center of the World by Richard Pousette-Dart. The »bidding war« ended at USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,365.80), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Pousette-Dart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blood Wedding in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,629,000.00 (€ 2,489,111.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Center of the World von Richard Pousette-Dart zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 46.365,80) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Pousette-Dart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blood Wedding im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.629.000,00 (€ 2.489.111,91).
