Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition by Richard Pousette-Dart was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 14,646.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Pousette-Dart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blood Wedding in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,629,000.00 (€ 2,489,111.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Composition von Richard Pousette-Dart wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 14.646,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Pousette-Dart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blood Wedding im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.629.000,00 (€ 2.489.111,91).
