Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included the work October Light by Ralph Humphrey. It changed hands for a price of USD 24,130.00 (€ 22,648.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ralph Humphrey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A/60-61 in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 237,500.00 (€ 201,049.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit October Light von Ralph Humphrey zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 24.130,00 (€ 22.648,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ralph Humphrey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A/60-61 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 237.500,00 (€ 201.049,69).
